Five Reasons You Should See Once Upon A Time In The 90s.

1) Do you love to laugh, good music and great dance numbers?

I am hoping the answer is yes (Hey you never know these days) then this is the show to come and check out. We have a great list of songs ranging from the 1950s to the 1990s - You know that old school Dee Edwards, Marvin Gaye and OF COURSE - Boyz II Men (I know you want to hear us do this lol) The cast have been rehearsing since January in order to make this a show to remember - I know all of you want to definitely know what the buzz is about - so why not come down and check it out?

2) Are you SICK and TIRED of the TRASH so called "Entertainment" on Television?

I AM SURE the answer is yes! Well we made sure we brought back that old school live entertainment flavour that everyone loved from shows like - The Jefferson’s, Family Matters and the Fresh Prince. The setting, the costumes, the jokes - everything is enough to take you back to Nostalgia - and I know we all have some part of our hearts lost in the 90s  - (I know I did; I had this cute little ra...I was about to go on; FOCUS D) This show brings REAL issues faced by REAL people but in order to make sure your eyes are still open by the end of the performance we prevented preaching to you and are instead willing to edutain you.

3) Are you a young person who wonders what it would have been be like to live in a house with 7 CRAZY and COLOURFUL individuals in the 90s?

Okay maybe I won't answer this one for you lol but I am guessing sometimes we are all a little curious. Now I was a kid growing up in the 90s and to be honest I would love to turn on the television and watch certain shows like Sweet Valley and the rest of the American teen shows and wonder "wouldn't it be awesome to have such cool friends and wear such cool clothes?" There is no time better than the 90s. The conscious music, the Black youth resistance movements, I willingness to identify with something other than a rap CD, Michael Jackson etc. These characters all represent someone we know and someone we have come about who sees things differently from ourselves - not to say they don't get it - they are just not committed to changing it. This show will show just how little things have changed from the 90s till now.

4) Do you want to learn Black history but feel it is SO boring you watch BET instead?

This show not only teaches you about what’s currently going on but also teaches you about what happened and how it still affects us as a people today. From the assassination of Patrice Lumumba to the death of Stephen Lawrence - Once upon a time in the 90s examines the similarities between the injustices that have occurred in society spanning 4 decades in the Diaspora. We understand the seriousness of the issue but the only way to make light of such serious cases is to present them in a comical manner in which people are not outraged but inspired to do something.

5) Imagine being able to support a group of artistic, intelligent and self disciplined youths working to do something for the community?

You can so why not come to the show? I know you want to plus; if not here, where else would you be?

I know this might not be ENOUGH to make SOME of you to come (*coff coff* S...) but I hope that our hard work touches your heart and encourages you to come and check us out.
